Moving on...UP!

So goes the story of life, she thought, that as soon as one feels comfortable... then WHAM! it all changes... again.

I am pleased to announce I'm available to work on Thursdays and/or Fridays.  I am no longer with Parkview Dentistry in Fountain Hills. We had a professional conflict of interest on top of a major miscommunication and I am so thankful to not have to drive 1 1/2 hours per day to work! (On top of 9 1/2 hours there) it was Way too much time away from my family.  I'm temping currently for a friend who is lucky enough to be on maternity leave. That will continue until the end of June then I will be simply and sweetly employed exclusively by Dr. Michael J. Smith of Mesa, AZ.

Many lessons have been learned as I work through this "economic downturn" a.k.a. RECESSION (I don't know why the government sugarcoats it).  I know what is important, I know what I want, and I am learning, thanks to recent events, how to get what I want that's important.  It's a tough lesson, but when I grow up it will definitely be worth it.

More to come, but for now, I must go back to work... YAY!

Where's Kellie?

I see I haven't updated this place lately.  It was over a year ago! Wow, it's been a great year for dental hygiene.  I have been working Monday through Wednesday at Dr. Smith's office in Mesa for 16 months now and we are going through some great changes.  We have had 3 team members quit and move on, and another one is getting married in November so she'll be leaving too.  We have one new team member and are looking for another two great team members.  We are going paperless via SoftDent and it is a big change, but I'm totally up for it.  I really enjoy being at work and so appreciate the wonderful people I work there.

On Thursday and Fridays I work in Fabulous Fountain Hills.  I work for Dr.Willard and they have a great team there.  It is about a 45 minute drive and I love being there when I'm there, and I make use of my commute time to listen to great motivational talks from my church.  I love the dynamic of patients that come to the office there.

I feel so blessed to be working full time.  I miss being away from my children so much but also feel blessed at this time that my husband is able to be home with them as he searches for a job after recently graduating from school.

Thanks for reading.

Dr. Montoya

I worked a day for an awesome pediatric dentist in Queen Creek ( Johnson Ranch) named Dr. Montoya.  He was a great dentist and very professional.  Throughout the day, he would share with me his thoughts and philosophies on how to take care of patients.  He was so delightful to work for and the entire staff was so accommodating to me by helping me with process of care and keeping me on schedule.  I was also able to teach them a couple of things about Dentrix, though G4 ran very slow.  I left that office with a wonderful feeling.  I remembered I LOVE what I do because

  • I can help people feel good about themselves by teaching them about little things they can do to take care of their oral and systemic health
  • I can build confidence in people by showing them simple ways to take care of their mouths and bodies
  • I can create positive dental experiences for patients of all ages by comforting them and encouraging them to take care of their mouths.

Introducing the Professional Me

I introduce myself on this site to share my professional side.  I am blessed to have the skills and license to practice dental hygiene.  I love it.  I love working with my patients and giving them the best care possible.  I love that I'm able to help my patients and they help me more than they know.

I am sad to leave a practice in Gilbert where I have worked for the past 5 years.  The patients there were more than just patients, but dear friends.  I grew to the point I needed to move on to continue to grow personally and professionally.  I am up for the challenge and am excited to learn and grow at the office I'm at in Mesa with Dr. Michael J. Smith.  New adventures and growth await me there, and I am excited to share those experiences here, on my professional side
